Why Laughter?

Laughter creates a feeling of connection and joy that is essential for our health and  wellbeing. Our workshops are designed to help you experience the benefits of laughter in a fun, playful and engaging way.

​It's all about giving ourselves permission to have fun for the purpose of improving our physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.

 

The Science

The fact that our brains cannot tell the difference between real and fake laughter means, we don't have to rely on telling jokes, we don't need  to be in a good mood and we don't even need a sense of humour to reap the benefits. We simply laugh for no reason!

What happens in a session?

A typical session starts with a gentle warm up of tension releasing stretches and vocal exercises. Deep breathing is used to prepare the lungs for laughter. This is followed by a series of “laughter yoga exercises” and clapping. We end the session  with a mindfulness-based visualisation to ground energy and relax.
